Cabin 4 – The Tricky Vine Cabin

Built new in 2020. Front deck 8 feet deep all the way across the front of cabin (34') with half of it covered by an overhang to keep off the sun/rain.  So named from when a trumpet vine grew up through the floor of a bedroom in the old cabin decorating a corner with live greenery (torn down in 2019 - see ye 'olde cabin #4  in Virtual Tour page if curious, heh.)

1104 square feet

  • Wheelchair FRIENDLY (8' sliding front door, shower extra wide w/ low sill & grip bars, both kitchen and bath sinks open underneath, lever faucets and handles, etc.)
  • King bedroom downstairs (bed new 2020)
  • 2nd bedroom upstairs with Queen bed (new 2021) and Full bed (new 2022)
  • 3rd bedroom upstairs with Queen bed (new 2020) and Twin/Twin bunkbed
  • Single pull-out chair sofa bed w/ ottoman
  • Close to activities (volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, beach)
  • A chipmunk favorite - bring peanuts to feed 'em.  We've seen guests of this cabin train the little devils to sit on their lap!
  • A/C in each of upper bedrooms, one large one downstairs
  • Rate is for 1-6, up to 10 persons with additional charge
  • Weekly rate is for 7 days/6 nights, the 6th night is FREE
  • Two parking spaces for vehicles alongside east wall (possibly 3 or 4 if nose-tail parallel only)

If you are looking for a resort for heavy drinking and all-night partying, do not choose us. Quiet time after 10:00 p.m. (When the Akeley city test siren sounds.)

Cabin Inventory

All 19 cabins have . . .

  • bed linens (sheets, blankets, pillows)
  • BBQ charcoal grill (bring charcoal!)
  • deck, picnic table and at least two deck chairs
  • a fully equipped kitchen with

    • auto-drip coffee maker with filters

    • crock pot
    • electric griddle (not all cabins have one, ask in lodge if not)
    • baking dishes (cake pans, measuring cups/spoons, cookie sheets, muffin tins)
    •  mixing bowls (at least 6)

    •  pots (variety of at least 5, plus a big pot)
    • skillets (4)
    • casserole dishes (several sizes)
    • Plates/bowls - enough for twice # of base rate peeps per cabin
    • wine glasses
    • mugs & glasses (2+ beverage pitchers)
    • flatware (incl. steak knives, spatulas, peeler, corkscrew, masher, tongs, can opener, bottle opener, pizza cutter, whisk, scoop, ladle, grater, scissors, cutting knives)
    • cutting boards
    • salt & pepper
    • toothpicks
    • dish soap (organic Sal Suds) & scrubbie/sponge

BRING KITCHEN TOWELS!

If you need an extra big pot or odd cake style pans, or extra anything, just ask at the lodge.

All cabins are non-smoking (ashtrays directly outside on deck)

All cabins come with one dock space for your own boat (we have boats for rent, too!)
