Cabin 14 – The Playhouse Cabin

(Our grandkids' favorite!)  Remodeled several times from its original purpose as a kids' playhouse in the 1980's, this fun one-bedroom cabin with a loft has lots of nooks, odd windows and character.  Great cabin for couples.  720 square feet

  • KING bedroom down (new 2026)
  • Queen bed up in very small loft (curtain for privacy - no door.  Newer mattress)
  • Futon sofa-bed in living room
  • NEW (2025) mini-split heater/cooling unit in living room (plus two ceiling fans and 2 box/floor fans left in cabin)
  • Large living room, tiny bathroom, and very small kitchen
  • Dining area with newer screened window to allow air circulation
  • Covered deck with view of lake and grassy meadow/campfire ring
  • Parking for 1 vehicle ONLY directly in front of deck
  • "Luna", the oldest white pine tree (300 years old) on the resort protects this cabin
  • Very close to beach, meadow campfire ring and play fort/swings
  • Rates are for 1-4, up to 6 persons with additional charge.
  • Weekly rate is 7 days/six nights, 6th night is FREE

If you are looking for a resort for heavy drinking and all-night partying, do not choose us. Quiet time after 10:00 p.m. (When the Akeley city test siren sounds.)

Cabin Inventory

All 19 cabins have . . .

  • bed linens (sheets, blankets, pillows)
  • BBQ charcoal grill (bring charcoal!)
  • deck, picnic table and at least two deck chairs
  • a fully equipped kitchen with
    • refrigerator

    • microwave
    • auto-drip coffee maker with filters
    • toaster
    • blender
    • electric mixer
    • crock pot
    • electric griddle (not all cabins have one, ask in lodge if not)
    • baking dishes (cake pans, measuring cups/spoons, cookie sheets, muffin tins)
    •  mixing bowls (at least 6)
    •  colander/strainer
    •  pots (variety of at least 5, plus a big pot)
    • skillets (4)
    • casserole dishes (several sizes)
    • Plates/bowls - enough for twice # of base rate peeps per cabin
    • wine glasses
    • mugs & glasses (2+ beverage pitchers)
    • flatware (incl. steak knives, spatulas, peeler, corkscrew, masher, tongs, can opener, bottle opener, pizza cutter, whisk, scoop, ladle, grater, scissors, cutting knives)
    • cutting boards
    • salt & pepper
    • toothpicks
    • dish soap (organic Sal Suds) & scrubbie/sponge

BRING KITCHEN TOWELS!

If you need an extra big pot or odd cake style pans, or extra anything, just ask at the lodge.

All cabins are non-smoking (ashtrays directly outside on deck)

All cabins come with one dock space for your own boat (we have boats for rent, too!)
